Day 1 :  Arrival in Las Vegas

Welcome to that most eccentric of Western US destinations, Las Vegas.

Begin your stay by visiting the top of the Stratosphere for a panoramic view of the city.

And be sure to enjoy the impressive Bellagio fountain show, an iconic Las Vegas attraction.

Day 2 :  Las Vegas  

Consider yourself warned: nothing is too big, nothing is too beautiful. After all, you are in Las Vegas, where anything goes... or almost anything.

Today you will explore The Strip, a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with a multitude of flamboyant casinos and resort hotels. The most impressive of these are the Wynn, Treasure Island and The Venetian.

Day 3 :  Las Vegas / Zion  (262 km / 02h39)

Spend the morning enjoying Las Vegas and its many attractions. You can pick up your motorhome between 1 and 3 p.m.

And let your American road trip adventure begin! Your destination today is Zion National Park.

The area was named by the early Mormon settlers, for whom Zion meant "paradise", a name inspired by the unearthly beauty of the surroundings.

Day 4 :  Zion  

Discover Zion on board the free shuttle bus, which will take you along the 13 kilometre long Zion Canyon Scenic Drive.

We recommend walking the Court of the Patriarchs trail for a view of the Patriarchs, three sandstone peaks more than 2000 metres high.

Continue along the scenic route to the Narrows, the narrowest section of the canyon.

Day 5 :  Zion / Bryce Canyon  (133 km / 01h43)

Today's destination is Bryce Canyon, one of the most spectacular national parks in the American Southwest.

Along the way, you will take the Mount Carmel Scenic Drive with its tunnels and breathtaking views of Zion Canyon. You will want to stop at Canyon Overlook to admire the singular beauty of the remarkable vistas.

Day 6 :  Bryce Canyon  

Bryce Canyon National Park is a forest of tall, thin spires of sandstone ("hoodoos") scattered across a giant natural amphitheater.

Hiking enthusiasts won't want to miss Queen's Garden, where they will be able to take a close look at the rocky columns and arches. It's like being in another world.

Sunset Point offers breathtaking views of the canyon amphitheatre, with the best light occurring at sunset.

Day 7 :  Bryce Canyon / Arches National Park  (398 km / 04h11)

Today you head for the town of Moab, the perfect base from which to explore several great American parks including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

You will quickly discover why this region constitutes a vast open-air playground for nature, mountain biking and hiking enthusiasts.

Day 8 :  Arches National Park

As its name indicates, Arches National Park is known for its vast number of natural sandstone arches.

Don't miss Fiery Furnace, a labyrinth of narrow passageways and abrupt dead-ends among a series of sandstone features.

Wait to visit Delicate Arch in the evening, when the sandstone takes on a magnificent red hue in the sunset light. Delicate Arch is the park's most beautiful arch and one of Utah's most famous icons.

Day 9 :  Excursion to Canyonlands

Today we suggest that you visit Canyonlands National Park, a 30-minute drive from Moab. 

Don't miss Shafer Trail, formerly used by cowboys to herd cattle into the canyon. This is where the final scene of "Thelma and Louise" was filmed, in which the two protagonists drive their car off the edge of a cliff into a canyon.

Inside the park, families will enjoy the short hike to Mesa Arch which leads to the edge of the plateau and a MAG-NI-FI-CENT view of the park.

Keep going to the end of the road, where you will find Grand View Point Overlook, offering expansive and breathtaking views of this larger-than-life park.

Day 10 :  Arches National Park / Monument Valley  (238 km / 02h32)

The adventure continues towards Monument Valley, home of some of the most iconic landscapes of the Far West and Hollywood westerns.

Be sure to take the "Monument Valley scenic drive" and discover the beauty of this legendary region. However, the unpaved road is not recommended for motorhomes. You would be better off hiring a local Navajo guide who will take you on a tour in his jeep.

John Ford Point is the best viewpoint in the park, and the most accessible. There is no reason to miss it!

Day 11 :  Monument Valley / Lake Powell  (212 km / 02h14)

Today you set out for Lake Powell, an area of great natural beauty where the lake's blue-green color is in stark contrast to the red-orange hues of the surrounding canyonlands.

Just before you reach the lake, be sure to stop at Horseshoe Bend, where you can take a 30-minute hike offering breathtaking views of the Colorado River.

At Lake Powell, the combinations of light, pattern and colour found in Antelope Canyon will leave you speechless.

Day 12 :  Lake Powell / Grand Canyon  (233 km / 02h40)

Today you head for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, the most impressive section of this natural wonder.

Begin your discovery of the Grand Canyon at Mather Point, which offers the most spectacular views of the park. Despite the crowds of visitors, an awed silence reigns before the majesty of the Grand Canyon.

Day 13 :  Grand Canyon  

You won't want to miss Hermit Road while in Grand Canyon National Park.

Along this scenic route, which is accessible on foot or by shuttle bus, be sure to visit Mohave Point. This designated viewpoint offers panoramic views towards the west; you will have the impression that you are floating above the Grand Canyon.

Desert View Drive at sunset is another must-see experience of extraordinary beauty.  Highlights include Lipan Point, with its spectacular and colourful vistas.

Day 14 :  Grand Canyon / Kingman  (275 km / 02h37)

Today's destination is Kingman, the heart of historic Route 66.

Along the way you will experience the legendary Route 66. Be sure to stop in the old 1930s railroad mining town of Hackberry with its general store, diners, motels, old gas stations and vintage advertisements.

Day 15 :  Kingman / Las Vegas  (175 km / 01h46)

One last morning to enjoy your American vacation.

You return your motorhome before 11 a.m. and then head for the Las Vegas airport, where you board your return flight.
