When should I book my RV?
RV travel is is highly popular option for vacationing in the USA, attracting a large number of tourists from around the world. This leads to a supply and demand driven market for RV rental in the land of Uncle Sam.
The demand is so high, particularly in peak season, that the supply is unable to keep up. This can result in a lack of availability for last-minute bookings. In addition, low availability drives the prices up as you get closer to your departure date.
Book early and save
If you are planning an RV vacation in the USA during the months of July and/or August, we strongly advise you to book by Christmas, for 2 reasons:
First of all, by booking before Christmas, you are sure to get a vehicle. For July and August rentals, the risk of unavailability increases as we approach the departure date. However, during the off-season there are often vehicles available, even at the last minute, although the rates may be higher.
Secondly, much in the manner of airline ticket prices, RV rental prices increase as you approach the departure date. Therefore the earlier you book, the more you save. This is also true for rentals outside of the July-August peak period.
